Library Board

The Cass District Library Board is composed of eight trustees who represent the 12 townships in our service area. The board meets the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm, usually at the Main Branch. Meetings generally last 90 to 120 minutes. On some occasions, usually in the summer,  the meeting will be held at one of the Cass District Library branches. The public is welcome to attend. Public comment is accepted at Board Meetings per CDL policy. Call (269) 357-7822 to verify the meeting place of the monthly board meeting.

BOARD VACANCY

The Cass District Library Board has an opening for an At-Large seat. 

The board is composed of eight trustees who represent 12 townships in our service area.  The board meets the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00pm, usually at the Main Branch. Meetings generally last 90-120 minutes. Each trustee is responsible for monitoring his/her own CDL official email account. There is also the opportunity to serve on standing committees. Trustees with a background in business, finance, human resources, and education can add great value of the organization. A deep commitment to the vital work that public libraries do everyday in Cass County is a necessary qualification. 

As a first step, we like to invite prospective Trustees to attend a Board meeting to meet the Board and get a sense of how business is conducted. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Library Director Barbara Gordon at bgordon@cass.lib.mi.us or 269-357-7822 ext. 101.
