Chromebooks and Hotspots

Chromebooks

Patrons must read and sign the Chromebook Circulation Policy before checking out a Chromebook. Read the full policy for lending agreement guidelines, liabilities and disclaimers. Instructions are included with all devices.

How to Use A Chromebook

  • Press and hold the power button to turn the Chromebook on.
  • Enter the network wireless information. If using an in-house Chromebook, the Wi-Fi will default to CDL Public. Loaned Chromebooks will require your personal network information. If you do not have wireless access, Cass District Library has hotspots available for checkout. Follow these steps for more information.
  • Press and hold the power button to log out or power off the device.

DISCLAIMER: Ending your session, closing the device, or turning off the Chromebook removes any data, saved pages, passwords and changes to settings. Save all files and downloads to your Google Drive or an external device. Chromebooks only support Google apps or Chrome extensions.

Hotspots

Patrons must read and sign the Hotspot Circulation Policy before checking out a Hotspot. Instructions are included with all devices. Read the full policy for lending agreement guidelines, liabilities and disclaimers.

Mobile Hotspots are now available at all branch locations. Hotspots can provide Wi-Fi internet access for up to 15 devices, and can be checked out for two weeks per household. The extent of quality of coverage is dependent on Mobile Beacon’s internet service which is provided on Sprint’s 4G LTE network. CDL cannot guarantee that a hotspot will work in all locations and settings. For the most current coverage map, click here.

Hotspot Catalog
  • To see all available hotspots, visit our catalog and search “hotspot”. To place a hold, log in with your library card and select “Place Hold”.
