Marketing & Programming Coordinator
Job Summary: The Marketing & Programming Coordinator for Cass District Library is responsible for the active promotion of all of the library’s activities, resources, and programs through the development and maintenance of the library’s website, Innovative Program and Promote software, social media, and print publications. This role ensures the library is always visible in the community, with a distinct focus on potential customers and community partners. Provides strategic direction using data about target audiences, web and social media usage, and community-building trends.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Plans and implements a proactive marketing and public relations program for the library; responsible for the creative development, production and distribution of all printed and digital marketing materials, including social media; ensures consistency with library brand and graphic standards; coordinates printing and postal needs.
- Leads the planning, coordination and execution of programming across the district with an emphasis on the annual Summer Reading Program.
- Assists with organization of receptions, public meetings, and fundraisers for the library; managers other marketing/communications activities as required by Library Director.
- Designs the library’s annual report.
- Contacts local businesses for donations to support programs as necessary.

HOWARD BRANCH MANAGER
Job Summary: Manage daily service and support operations for the Howard Branch of Cass District Library.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, MLS or MILS degree preferred. Prior library experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Develop plans, programs, and services in keeping with policy and in conjunction with the Library Director, Marketing Coordinator, children’s services staff, and other Branch Managers.
- Develop policies and procedures with administrative team, provide clarification of policies and actively enforce policies.
- Train, schedule, and supervise circulation clerks focused on great customer service and oversee volunteers.
- Collaborate on initiatives to increase library usage
- Maintain inviting, welcoming and well-organized facility.

library DIRECTOR
Qualifications: A master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution is required. Four or more years of experience as a Director or Branch Head of a large public library system. Must hold or qualify for Michigan Certification 1. Prior supervisory experience in the areas of administration, facilities, finance and marketing. Experience collaborating and partnering with trustees, civic/community partners, local businesses, and other key stakeholders. Experience leading projects to enhance facilities, collections, programs, and team members.
