NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING
CASS DISTRICT LIBRARY BOARD
CASS DISTRICT LIBRARY
Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
The Cass District Library Board (“Library Board”) of the Cass District Library (“Library”) will hold a public hearing on the proposed Library budget (“Budget”) for the fiscal year January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 both in-person at the Cass District Library 319 M-62, Cassopolis, MI 49031 and electronically (see instructions below) on November 17, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed Budget will be a subject of this hearing. A copy of the Budget, including the proposed property tax millage rates, is available for public inspection on the Library’s website, https://www.cassdistrictlibrary.org. The Budget is also available for public inspection at the Cass District Library located at 319 M-62, Cassopolis, MI 49031, during business hours, by calling 269-357-7822.
The Library must hold a public hearing before the final adoption of the Budget. Any interested person will be given the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing regarding the proposed Budget.
Pursuant to the Michigan Open Meetings Act (“OMA”), the Library gives notice of the following:
Reason for Electronic Meeting. The Library Board is meeting electronically because the Library holds its meetings in Cass County and the County has declared a local state of emergency. Therefore, the Library wants to ensure participation by the Library Board and the public if the public cannot be physically present and provide comment in the Library. The Library may meet electronically pursuant to the OMA and Cass County’s local state of emergency.
